How often do Techtree's prices change?

Prices are reviewed once a day against the market and the date of the last update is printed on every model page. Once you accept an offer your price is locked for 21 days regardless of later changes.

Does Techtree compare its prices with other companies that buy used devices?

Yes, as one input to the daily review, alongside our own resale data. Those comparisons are internal: the site publishes Techtree's own prices only, with no other service's quotes, ranges or rankings.

What does the trend chart on a model page show?

What Techtree paid for that configuration in good condition over the last 90 days, one line, from our own price history. Pick a different condition, configuration or timeframe with the selects above the chart.

How We Set Prices

1. One price per configuration and condition

Techtree prices each model by configuration (storage, carrier, connectivity, case size or the axes that model has) and by condition (Brand New, Flawless, Good, Fair, Minor Damage, Broken). The "What Techtree pays" table on a model page is that grid, and the "Every configuration we buy" list underneath it is the complete set. The quote wizard reads the same grid, so the price it shows is the price on the page.

A configuration we do not buy is not listed, and a condition we cannot make an offer for says so in the wizard rather than showing a placeholder figure.

2. Reviewed every day

Prices are reviewed once a day against the market and our own resale data. Every model page prints the date of its last update, and the sitemap carries the date a model's prices last moved so search engines can tell a fresh page from a stale one. Most used devices lose value over time, fastest in the weeks after a successor launches; the trend chart on each page shows the last 90 days.

3. What we publish

Every figure on this site is Techtree's own price. The wider market is one of the inputs to the daily review described above, alongside our own resale data, but those comparisons stay internal: we do not publish other services' quotes, a market range, a median, a buyer count or a ranking of Techtree against anyone else.

The price table and the configuration list are what Techtree pays, for a complete working device in each condition.
The trend chart is our own price history for the configuration and condition you pick, over the timeframe you pick.
The trade-in price index and its CSV are the same prices in one table, free to cite.

4. From a price to an offer

Complete device. The price assumes a complete, working device. Where an included item carries a deduction (a watch band or charger, for example), the wizard shows the exact figure before you accept. Items sold separately from the device never affect the price.
Condition. The offer is for the condition you select; the criteria are on How we grade.
Locks. Every offer requires a device free of activation lock, carrier finance locks and blacklisting.
Price lock. Once you accept, the price is locked for 21 days while your device is on its way; the Price Lock Policy has the details, including the 7-day revised-offer window.
Fees. Standard shipping and returns are free. Optional expedited shipping and shipment coverage are shown as their own lines at checkout and deducted from the payout; the payout never goes below zero.

5. What the numbers are not

The prices are what Techtree pays for a device, not retail values or insurance valuations, and not a statement about what any other service would pay you. A price is dated: it is what we paid on the day shown, and it can move at the next daily review until you accept and lock it. Ratings and reviews shown on the site are third-party reviews of Techtree, not ratings of the prices.
