Selling your device

How does selling to Techtree work?
Find your device, answer a few quick questions about its condition and options, and get an instant quote. Accept the offer and we email you a free prepaid shipping label. Ship your device, and once we inspect it you are paid in 1 to 2 business days.
What can I sell?
We buy phones, tablets, MacBooks, desktops, smartwatches, game consoles, audio gear, and VR headsets, working or not. If you do not see your exact model, reach out and our team can still take a look.
Do I need an account to sell?
No. You can get a quote and check out as a guest in minutes. Creating a free account just lets you track your orders and save your details for next time.
Do you accept devices from outside the United States?
Not yet. For now we only buy devices shipped from within the U.S.
Is there a limit to how many devices I can sell?
There is no limit. If you are selling 10 or more devices, contact us first so we can approve the bulk order before you create your offers.
What should I do with my SIM card?
Remove your SIM card and any microSD card before you ship. If you forget, we securely dispose of SIM cards during inspection. We never read or store them.
Which accessories should I include?
Only the accessories you select at checkout. One exception: devices listed as Brand New must arrive sealed with all original accessories, since we pay a premium for them.

Pricing and offers

How long is my quote locked?
A full 21 days, which is longer than most buyers offer. Lock in your price, ship any time within the window, and the number you saw is the number you get. If your device arrives after 21 days we may re-evaluate it against the current market.
How is my offer calculated?
We look at the model, its storage and options, and its condition, along with current market demand. Newer devices in great shape are worth more, but we still make a fair offer on well-used gear.
What if my device's condition differs on inspection?
We send a revised offer with a clear, photo-backed explanation. You can accept it, ask us to re-evaluate, or decline and we ship your device back to you free of charge. You stay in control the whole way.
What does unlocked mean and why does it matter?
An unlocked phone is not tied to a single carrier, and unlocked phones are worth more. Most carriers will unlock a paid-off phone on request.

Shipping and returns

Is shipping really free?
Always. We email you a prepaid, tracked label, plus a QR code if you would rather not print. Pack your device in any sturdy box and drop it off.
Is my package insured?
Every order includes free $100 transit coverage both ways. You can add full coverage of your offer value at checkout for 1% of your item's value, deducted from your payout. Please pack your device securely.
How do I track my package?
Your label is fully trackable, and we email you as soon as your device arrives. You can also follow your order anytime from the Track my devices page.
What if I do not have a printer?
No problem. Use the QR code we send and a clerk can print the label for you at drop-off, or contact us and we will help.
Is returning my device free?
Yes. If you decline a revised offer, we ship your device back to you at no cost, with no obligation.

Payment

How and when do I get paid?
Choose PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App at checkout. Once your device clears inspection, your payment is sent within 1 to 2 business days. No checks, no gift cards, just cash the way you want it.
What if my payment has not arrived?
Payments go out within 1 to 2 business days of approval. If you do not see it, check the email and account tied to your payout method, then reach out and we will trace it.
What if I entered the wrong payment info?
For security you cannot edit a submitted offer yourself. Contact us from the email on your order and we will update it for you.

Security and trust

Is my personal data safe?
Yes. Back up and sign out of your accounts before you ship. We run a certified data wipe on every device we receive, resetting it to factory settings so nothing of yours is ever left behind.
Do I need to factory reset before shipping?
We recommend it for extra peace of mind, and it also removes activation locks. Either way, we securely wipe every device on arrival.
Can I sell a locked or blacklisted device?
We cannot accept devices that are blacklisted or locked with iCloud, Find My, Google FRP, or MDM. Remove any account locks before you ship.
